It’s been a busy week at Oak Valley Tree Services! We’ve been all over Devon covering almost every aspect of the services that we offer.
Amongst it all, we were asked to advise on some trees overhanging a very large barn belonging to one of our long term regular customers in Sourton, Devon. The customer was frustrated by leaves from the Beech, Ash and Oak trees clogging up the gutters every year and wanted to bring the trees down significantly in height. Craig took a look and advised the customer that if too much were removed from the trees, the beech in particular, could develop problems, so a height was agreed upon that both our customer and the trees were happy with!
Upon inspecting the trees, Craig identified that both of the Ash Trees on the bank were suffering quite badly from the ever spreading Ash Dieback (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus) that is plaguing Ash Trees across the UK.
With the risks posed to the building, as well as the clients that our customer would regularly have on site, it was agreed that the Ash Trees would be removed.
Craig did a quick and efficient job dismantling the Ash Trees before the reduction work was carried out on the remaining Beech and and Oak trees. We still have one more larger Beech left to reduce, so updates will follow!
